Pining. Waiting. Eating. Writing - 6:13 AM
Written Dec 1, 2009 (Day of Departure)B.K.'s Zesty sauce is the best.
I found out the hard way, after paying nearly $11 for a chicken sandwich meal at the LAS airport. For your curiosity's sake, Ranch comes a close second, as anyone who specializes in chicken strips would know whether you live in Vegas or say, Abu Dhabi. And if you REALLY want to know, Honey Mustard is 3rd.
I'm on my way to Europe! More than 10 years of pining, nearly zero planning... I figure as long as I have my air ticket, credit card, and passport, I can always figure the rest out later.
Anyhow, at the airport, it once again becomes prevalent how connected our world is, especially in the International Flight Terminal. (Not so much in the domestic terminal, cos to your left you see obese Americans, to your right you see tubby Americans, not much variety at all). The slot machines are whirling away (man, are they relentless. Airport, grocery stories, wal-freaking Greens where all you want is something as mundane as shampoo but end up $20-less at the machines anyway), and there are people carrying Victoria Secrets purchases in their signature red and pink striped paper bag as carry ons. And it reminds me that how the start of an what-would-be-awesome vacation (mine, as long as I can somehow get myself and my suitcase safely to the hotel), could easily signify the end of another (these people with their Abercrombie and VS bags).
I also turned in my formal resignation letter today. Not having the experience of writing one before meant I had to google one. It's.... interesting, everyone should just keep a template just in case. Today they also announced they are giving us all one complimentary night stay at the eosrt, plus 2 free shoe tickets. I only wished they had told us 2 weeks earlier, so Ruoyi could have enjoyed our hotel when she was visiting over Thanksgiving. That is probably one of my biggest regrets in LV, that most of my family and friends have not had the chance to stay with us while I'm there. After all, I'll have to show you what the largest 5-diamond property in the world is made of.
Perhaps that's what return trips are for... to answer years-old regrets, relive fond memories, and of course, the lure of YEAR END SALES.
Yes, let me plan my return trip right now. But for now, onward to Barcelona!
