Oscar, Seh-Ser-Lee, and Per-Neh-Lo-Pee - 12:24 AM
At times, I find myself more juvenile, which is not the most fitting thing since it becomes an instant paradox with how I look. Perhaps because I've always balked at the thought of being the kind of girl who loves cuddly toys (doesn't quite go with my image), or that I've never quite approved of Hello Kitty until quite recently... And so, to recapture the youth that has past me by, I'm allowing myself to get a little bit silly. I now own 3 cuddly toys that share my bed. I used to have one small lion called Lion King that I got from the former MPH (now Borders) at Parkway, and I only got that cos it was the era where it was cute to bring a toy to school (sec 1-2 I believe). I don't know what happened to Lion King, but I'm sure he died quite a tragic death like all my other toys. But I genuinely like my toys now, because I didn't buy them for peer pressure. Haha. So here they are!!
Oscar the Snow Seal that you are probably quite familiar with. I initially bought an Oscar from the Georgia Aquarium in July 2007 when I was on internship there. But it was a gift for my friend Kai. So then I bought another Oscar when I went to the San Diego Sea World. Heh.
My 2nd toy joined Oscar late last year, as a gift from Peiyun from the San Antonio Sea World. Its a killer whale, and I just christened it yesterday. Her name is Cecile, to be pronounced as Seh (as in sesame)-Sur (as in sir)-Lee. But to make it easy, she also goes by Sass or Sassy. She's part French, you see.
Cecile the da jie da. She too remains part white despite enduring the same fate as Oscar on several nights.
Last but not least, the latest addition to my family. An incredibly fluffy polar bear cub that I got from the F.A.O. Schwarz store at Caesars Palace on Thursday before the Elton John concert I went to. I love love love Polar bear cubs, them and pandas. Her name is Penelope as in Per-Neh-Lo-Pee, nickname Penny.
L-R: Penny, Sass, and Oscar
Also since we're on the animal trail now, may I introduce u to the wackiest shower cap in the history of mankind. TADAH!!
Well, just to make it clear I didn't buy it for myself. Shiyun got it for me as a birthday present, but it's so funny it makes me laugh all the time. And I wasn't just wearing it as a french beret for fun, I was making dinner which happened to be Korean BBQ ribs!!
The whole idea is to wrap a bite of meat, kimchi, rice, chili paste, and green onions in the lettuce, and eat it all together. Healthy (reasonably), and really really satisfying.
And now after dinner, I kick back and my favorite movie of all time - You've Got Mail is on tv for the 100th time, and I'm watching it again and spending the last of my Saturday hours sipping Oolong tea. Ahhh, bliss.
