Am Currently... - 5:01 PM
Jet lagged. It is precisely 6:02am and I've been up for 1.5 hours.*sigh*
According to reliable sources both professional (objective) and personal (non-objective), LAX (the Los Angeles Intl Airport) is one of the worst in the world. I am here to confirm that this accusation/condemnation/spectulation is absolutely true. Not only is it periodically late and in need of some lovin', the carpet stinks and the bathrooms electrifying horrendous. It now competes with Newark as the worst airport in the U.S. I've ever been to.
I haven't travelled as much as many other people, but LAX is now just a step above New Delhi, and you know it ain't no compliment when you compare yourself with India unless you were talking about computer engineering or the construction of the perfect naan. Besides, it's hardly competitive when the latter has close to no airconditioning, squat toilets, and blacks out on random occasions.
BY THE WAY... Number 51 is spectacular. Now that reconstruction and redecoration is done (well, kinda)... we are happy to be back to be on the motherland. Well, most of us are happy anyway, and those who aren't are the ones unfortunately responsible for cleaning, or paying the mortgage which I can assure you, will bite us in the ass one of these days.
The land which my mother and her 3 brothers grew up in is now where their spouses and they, their children, the poor maid (oh the cleaning!), the occasional guest, and the random dog now continues to reside some 30 years later. Of course, you will have to endure the insistent reoccuring annoying reversal beep of my cousin's school bus (it is currently exactly 6:17am and here it goes again), and the 2 dogs mad barking at the unsuspecting newspaper delivery man at about 6:30am... but what the hell, the fact that I'm chummy with my neighbors and that I now have access to a pool and jacuzzi is enough for me to forget that... until of course, 6:17am the very next day. I would love to show you some pictures, but I think you need to come see for yourself what the Cheng brothers and sisters have done.
Anyhow, will be meeting grandma and aunts for dim sum today. And then off to do what I do best - enjoying a haircut to the fullest. Maybe I should realize my full potential and go for a pedicure too since it's been 6 weeks since the last one and eew, that's just unacceptable.
Drop me a note if you want to stop by!
