I Opened my Mailbox and....... - 2:43 PM
OH. MY. FRICKING. GOD.This morning I received my insurance claim for my previous bagel incident, and here's how I was billed by the hospital that made me wait 6 hours while I bled to death.
Emergency Care Consultation - $452.17
Immunization (Tetanus Shot) - $68.87
Immunization (Anesthesia) - $198.10
Drugs (Painkillers and Antibiotics) - $60.97
Diagnostic X-ray (to make sure I didn't slice too deep) - $276.47
Surgery (12 stitches) - $693.99
Total Bill: $1750.91
Let's all say it together now....
OH.MY.FRICKIN. GOD.
Thankfully, almost all of it will be handled by company insurance where I don't pay monthly premiums for. THANK YOU LVS! But then I feel super bad cos we're in economic turmoil now and I had to choose this time to slice my hand open. Thats such bad timing! But whenever I think of my manager who underwent $100k back surgery and had the company pay for almost all of it, I feel better. People who think Singapore healthcare is expensive, PLEASE RECONSIDER THAT STATEMENT.
In even sadder news, the company did several layoffs yesterday. It's brutal, but necessary. They'll just have to do it fast so we can move on from this. But for now, lets just say it again.
