It Feels like Michigan! - 7:41 PM
0 comment(s)
Following the end of September, we are officially into Fall... what was probably my favorite season when I was in Michigan. Because that is the time when the air turns cool and crisp, the leaves outside turn gold and red (and there are a helluva lot of trees on campus), and I officially have only 2 months of school left before retiring for the Winter vacation of which I would be making my annual trips to NYC for the Hotel show in Nov, and to Washington D.C. where our annual Thanksgiving meet up over a gigantic turkey, boatloads of home cooked gourmet eats, and a solid game of Cranium awaited.

Now that I'm in Nevada, October is still proving to be a great month. The summer heat has died down, replaced with the same Michigan crispness that I never thought would be possible here, Michigan State football team is finally going to a bowl game (SPARTY ON!), and I still have a job despite the terrible market conditions. Ha. But I no longer look forward to November, since I am no longer going to NYC for the Hotel Show, neither am I D.C bound. In fact, I will be working over Thanksgiving, which is not very fun but heyyy, did I mention the terrible economic state we're in right now?

Today is the coldest Vegas has ever been since I got here... 56 deg F or about 13 deg C. For the city that experienced 45deg summers, this is much relief to their new resident i.e. me. Last night, I slept with the windows open for the first time, and I was excited to wake up this morning because I couldn't wait to feel how cool it would be. And this morning, I pulled my Michigan State sweatshirt over my head, and AHHHH, it sure feels good to be back to Michigan. Sadly, there are no trees with color-changing leaves in Nevada, and the Palm trees don't seem to be shedding anything anytime soon.

This October, I have also decided to force myself out of my couch and into the Yoga studios. So far, I've attended two classes, and going for the 3rd one tomorrow. This stretching and bending is not that easy, but I keep telling myself 'I am doing this to you because I love you too much to not do it'. We'll see how where this takes, but it does feel good to sweating a bit.
