Red Rock Canyon - 12:27 AM
Well I have no idea how I just found out about Peiyun's blog, but since I've been so lazy with daily updates, I figured its way easier/faster to cut and paste her blog entry on visiting Sin City. After all, I know everyone wants to see the pictures! So Ruoxi, Peishan and Peiyun visited me way back in July, when Peishan was doing her final roadtrip across the U.S before she went home to Singapore, and so picked up Peiyun along the way in Dallas. Ruoxi joined us in Vegas.
So here goes...
Roadtrip: Red Rock Canyon and Palazzo
2008.07.13
your favorite photos below. Besides hitting the casinos (where we lost our money at games of craps), we also went to the Red Rock Canyon near Ruoying's place. With the sweltering heat in Vegas, I am glad we did the scenic route and did not attempt the hiking trails :D

Sunday dinner at Lotus of Siam (953 E. Sahara Ave., Las Vegas). It is supposedly one of the best Thai restaurants in North America, and the food was indeed quite delicious.

Peishan's favorite dish of the night - Thai fishcake. Hah, so I guess it is quite apt that you can see her reflection on the spoon in this photo.
| |
Ruoxi and I really liked this dish - Khao Soi, or Northern Thai egg noodle with curry. It tasted so much like the curry mee (though it is more like mee pok in this case) back home! I miss Singapore food.

So though we did lose money at Craps ,.. Craps is such a crappy game anyway, we had a lot of fun that weekend, throwing in a Cirque de Soleil Original 'O' show at the Bellagio, a fantastic atas dinner at Pinot Brassiere in the Venetian, and just singing our hearts away to 90s chinese ballads. WHAHAHA. so fun. Its awesome to have old friends around. Just perfect.
By the way, that is not my daily view hor. You have to pay $5 to get into the nature conservatory... but I do get to see the vivid outline of the mountains.
