So Long, Sweet Summer - 9:09 PM
0 comment(s)
Boy Oh Boy...This summer was full of nonstop traveling, working, studying, adapting. In short, I managed to cram alot of stuff into these 16 weeks... I guess what I'm really trying to say that its been a crazy hectic summer and its a miracle that I even went through all of that cos I'm usually such a lazy person!

Anyhow, I move back to East Lansing tomorrow, and I don't even feel that sad about having to end the vacation ... I mean, I'm sure I will feel even better if I manage to pack everything in and NOT go over the weight limit. *mumble grumble*

And so as a recap, this summer I....

- First moved to the South (Its a whole different COUNTRY down there!) to Atlanta - home of the Braves (and hip hop moguls... and a whole bunch of CRAZY PEOPLE. NO KIDDING!)

Centennial Olympic Park.. home to the 96' Olympic Games

- Made new friends in Atlanta - V&V, K&N, Kai, Shy, Kevin etc
- Lived with people I didn't know before
- Managed to live in peace with people I didn't know before
- Went to the Gay Pride Parade in Atlanta

Woot!

- Went to the Georgia Aquarium, the World's largest one, where I aquired Oscar.. speaking of which, OSCAR WHERE ARE YOUUUUU??

Georgia Aquarium, and I don't even like fish

- Grew 3 shades darker (Yes I'm BITTER)
- Worked in a huge convention hotel

The landmark Westin Peachtree Plaza

- Ate their famous fried chicken for lunch every Thursday
- Did the best thing I've done in a long time: MADE FRIENDS WITH THE CHEF! =)
- Gave a sweet presentation that concluded my internship beautifully

Then, I....
- Flew about 50 million miles to India (it is a whole different WORLD down there)
- Rode on elephants and camels
- Did hanna painting
- Rode a tuk tuk
- Climbed a mountain
- Stayed at Palaces
- Saw the most beautiful sunset
- Got bitten by mosquitoes (oh yes where are my malaria pills?)
- Found out quickly that bug spray, hand sanitizer and a roll of toilet paper in your bag are your best friends when traveling in India
- Saw about 10 gazillion Rajasthani dance performances
- Bought books, clothes, accessories... alot of crap, basically
- Saw the Taj Mahal!
- Saw the incredible India, and the not so nice side as well

The camel: symbol of love

Then, I went to Bangkok where I...
- Met up with my best friend!
- Got to know the 3 guys traveling with my best friend
- Revamped myself (haircut, nails, massages.. the works)
- Visited the Grand Palace for the 4th time
- Went to Chatuchak
- Survived Chatuchak
- Went on a dinner cruise on a boat that was going SO FAST the food got cold even faster

Cruising down the Chao Praya River

- Bought about 10, 000 pairs of earrings
- Fell in love with the city (pollution, traffic jams or not) all over again

Next I was in Dubai where I...
- Nearly died from the heat
- Acknowledged the A/C as the greatest invention EVER
- Went to the Burj!
- Saw the Palms on a boat!!
- Smoke the shisha, and did the hanna
- Went on a desert safari (I think I will have the bruise on my right shoulder)
- Ate a lot of meat
- Decided that there's where I'm going to find my husband
- Did I mention I nearly died from the heat?

Arabian Mosques

Then I came back to New York and ...
- Met up with my primary school friend Sheryl (She's now officially the longest friend I have and still keep in touch with)
- Went to Boston for a weekend

Beacon Hill

Marveling local architecture. Food for thought: Is that how my hair looks from the back?

- Ate nonstop in Boston

Like that. Unglam I know

Ok, since you asked so nicely

- Visited Harvard
- Tried to find a husband from Harvard
- Was unsuccessful at the previous

At Harvard

- Shared a whole cheesecake from The Factory and had diarrhea almost immediately

Beautiful Boston

- Said goodbye to Boston, returned to the City and ...
- Met up with the love of my life twice in 3 days... hei hei hokkien mee!!
- Went to a Japanese supermarket in Jersey where I spent $100 on toiletries in a last ditch attempt to mei bai (I'm still bitter, as you can see)

I have no self control whatsoever

Tomorrow will be the last day of my summer break, its been a hell of a vacation, but I'm kinda excited to return to school...

Where I will have to unpack an entire room, tv fridge microwave fan toaster oven and all...Can I not deal with it, CAN I NOT DEAL WITH IT?!!

Oh well, I'm still excited...SEE YOU BACK IN E.L!
