Surviving Atlanta - 9:15 PM
Ok, I survived first two days at work.Boy, am I gonna miss school when its over... I mean, geez, imagine getting up super early EVERY SINGLE DAY for the rest of your life. Bleah.
I could hardly keep my eyes from closing at 10am, 11am, 12 noon, 1pm...u get the idea. And I don't even do anything!!! They're just letting me sit around in the reservations department and get a feel of what they do for now.. but I don't do anything, not even close to touching the computer. Not that I'm complaining though. Heh.
About Atlanta...
I....admit that its not a place you fall in love with immediately. Its supposed to be a large city, but it doesnt offer the conveniences a city ought to provide. They should make it mandatory that any city that claims to be a city should have a drugstore on every other street corner. Like the Walgreens of Chicago or the Duane Reades of NYC. Ahhh... I miss NYC, and Chicago!!!!!!!!
And did you all know that Atlanta is HIP HOP CAPITAL? Wahahha, I'm not kidding. I didn't know that either, until I came here and found out for myself. Population here is predominantly black (about 60%), then whites, hispanic, and asian of course. Its a good idea to plug in your iPod whenever you're walking on the roads, cos you can pretend not ot hear crazy people who talk to you randomly.
Just this morning, there was this woman in front of me while I was riding the escalator. When she got to the end of the belt, she turned around and machiam was awaiting me to reach to the top. I heard her blabber something abt 'having some change'... but cos I had my earphones plugged in, I could pretend I couldn't hear her and wave her away. But I was kinda scared, cos she was holding a fork... thank god she didn't stab me!!!
Ahhhh, I think its gonna be a great learning experience. Muahhaa, anything that doesn't kill (literally) me, makes me stronger right? NOT RIGHT. this is not cool.
Ok, its 9.30pm now and I should start to prepare for bed. Its like I really need 10 hours of sleep a day you know... die la, die.
Oh yes, the housemates are really nice people. I'm like living in an international house. My landlords are Kim and Nelson. Kim's Cambodian-Chinese, and Nelson's Cuban. They rented the bedroom and bathroom downstairs to Kevin who is American. Even the dog is exotic...she's an Argentine Dogo. I was kinda worried about her at first cos I googled her and umm, lets just say she's not your average looking canine. Kinda fierce looking, and kinda big. But SURPRISE, she's really tame and super sweet. She likes to come into my room uninvited (abit like Shiyun), and just nua on my floor (EXACTLY LIKE SHIYUN!). She doesn't bite or chew stuff like Kaya who chewed on my spectacles until so shuang(still have hard feelings), and doesn't even MAKE NOISE. I was telling Shiyun its like as if someone put a mute button on her (the singaporean way of putting it would be - THE SOUND SPOIL). hahaha.
More to update when I don't concuss after work.... if you call nua-ing in a swivel chair work, that is!
