ramblings on a Friday afternoon - 4:45 PM
Its Friday afternoon...it will be Saturday morning very soon, then Sunday.. and then, whoop-de-doo, Monday rolls around. Its freezing here, been snowing NONSTOP the whole day... which is quite normal for January in Michiga, really. Besides, whenever I want to complain about the coldness, I tell myself its my last spring semester in this sprawling campus.
Can't believe I'm graduating in a year's time...I don't really know what to look forward to anymore once I graduate. Retirement, perhaps? Aiii, no wonder pple experience mid-life crisises!
Meanwhile, I've been really into the whole Home & Decor mode again!! I think it started with really thinking about what the theme for my new room will be since I really need to let the interior decorator know... Will it be Contemporary, Romantic, Transitional, Traditional, or the bare minimum? what should the color of my walls be (mellow colors that sooths the soul, or bold colors that make a statement about who I am?) What about furniture? Should they be wood, upholstered, or metal? And how will my bathroom turn out? All the instructions I've given about my bathroom is that it ought to be a counter top and look contemporary. I swear if the bathroom came out like a 90s styled tiled one, I would personally tear off tile by tile with my bare hands.
But I have to say that I finally have an idea of what I want my room to look like - Asian, fusion! What exactly is asian fusion, you ask? I ... am Asian-fusion! You probably are, too, if you are Asian, live in the 21st century, born and raised in era of the Hollywood Hype.
The term asian fusion is probably most commonly used on food. Cuisine inspired by asian palettes, modified with Western instincts. And that is how I would want my room to turn out. It would look seemingly westernized and 'modern' (i don't like how this word is being thrown around, for it has many many meanings), but if you would look deeper, you would see traces of the East in it.
Its like eating kung pow chicken pizza, you know?
Anyway, thats just a concept...you will have to wait and see how it turns out! At least now I have a slight idea of where I'm going with this project. Heh.

This is what you call top grade wallpaper - by de Gournay. Handpainted chinois design. I don't dare to imagine how much it costs.
Alright. Shall stop it here. We'll have to see how the final product turns out! On a different note, my friend Kelly is moving house this weekend. HAPPY MOVING HOUSE, KEL!!!!!!!
