Officer Cadet - My sister - 3:52 PM
OH yes, I called home this weekend... RUOYI HAS BEEN LET OUT OF CAMP! hahaha. Ahh, my baby sister is all grown up. Enlisting in the army, and doing things I will never ever do in my life. (if i had to enlist in the army.. SORRY, BYE I'M OUTTA HERE!)Its good to hear that she's still alive and doing well, probably because the weather has been rainy huh? Haha, but not to take credit away from her, she is a real fighter. Put her in the jungle, and she will find her way out, in the meantime savoring every obstacle that comes her way. She is abit different from us hor? Haha, see what VJC Odac has done to her?
We thought we were cultivating a tai-tai when she told us she wanted to go to SCGS, OH YES SHE IS FROM SCGS! But fate says otherwise. Oh well, what can you do but pray for her safety?
So far, in the past 3 weeks, she has been enjoying the life in camp. (TOTALLY WEIRD) She seems cheerful and clearheaded enough, so she should be ok there. But she was seething in fury on Friday night, when their officer intentionally kept them back and made them do punishment when they were so looking forward to going home. Ha, welcome to the real life stories of being tekan-ed.
As for me, well.. I guess we're not getting a tai tai out of her any time soon. But as long as she enjoys it, who are you to say no?
Last week, it was visiting day in SAFTI, so my parents brought my uncle, aunt and godpa to visit her. Visiting times were 9am -noon, and while other parents were already in line to come in at 8.50am, my parents and godpa were still having a leisurely breakfast, and in a deep discussion of... KWAY-CHUP - the origin and revolution. Poor Ruoyi had to wait up in the bunks, and wait while her fellow cadets were being called one by one. Her officer even came up at one point and asked 'eh Ruoyi ah.. where are your parents? Are they coming? Do they know its visiting day?'
GEEZ, I would be so mad! But of course, they did show up ... AT 9:50AM! Their theory was 'aiyoh, dun need to be so kan jiong la. in times of war also canot see parents one' -_- so much for zen parents. OH, they were even the first to leave the camp at 11:50am!! their theory? 'aiyoh we are cool ok!' Yes, VERYYY cool indeed. Ruoyi's officers were quite surprised and told her 'WHOA Ruoyi, your parents are VERY relaxed hor?' And they sent Ruoyi to inform the other cadets to fall in cos they were themselves embarrased to chase the parents away.
Sigh. SO, may I present... OFFICER CADET HONG RUOYI!
tadang! with my dad who ought to really learn to take better pictues, with my mom who has seen better hair days (i better have a talk with her soon about that), and my godpa, who has now retired and has ALOT of free time on his hands.
