I am not crazy! - 8:19 PM
0 comment(s)
If you think I'm on the brink of insanity, you're WRONG. I know I wasn't a Princess in my past life.... although I think I still have a chance of being an aristocrat! haha....I had a point to make in my last post, and that is....

On Thursday night, I applied to go for study abroad to India!!! I know, I know...your first reaction would be WTH?! INDIA?!? Haha...the responses I've gotten so far range from 'SO EXOTIC!!!' to 'INDIA LEH... VERY SMELLY ONE, U SURE U CAN?', to 'study abroad? BUT YOU ARE ALREADY STUDYING ABROAD!!'

Actually, I do understand your reactions.. cos I remember long ago, before I enrolled in MSU, Peirui, who was studying here at that time, went for the trip and told me about it. I can still remember my first reaction was also along the likes of 'HUH? INDIA?', and couldn't comprehend why someone would choose to go to a 3rd world country instead of other 'normal' people who chiong to London, France, Japan, and the likes. I asked her why she chose India over the other HB program to Norway, and her reason was a simple 'because I know I can easily go to Europe on my own, but not India.' Ahhh, makes perfect sense, doesn't it... and now I see it. Yes my dear friends, please do not worry for me... don't forget I'm not going to Mumbai for CIP, or rebuilding schools in Tibet.. I'm travelling with a bunch of spoilt, American kids who can't live without mac n cheese and HBO. Everyone who's been on the trip had great fun, and wouldn't it be fun to experience Asia from the Americans' point of view? The trip is actually for next summer, and lasts only 5 weeks.... so even if its that unbearable, it won't be for long. But I do have a sensitive nose, but oh well... I'll face that when it comes.

The pictures of the palace u saw would be the hotel we are staying in when we're there... Ok well, technically... Dr Singh said that we would be staying in 8 or 9 historical hotels in Rajasthan, which is the main tourism belt in India... I AM MEGA EXCITED! Only in Asia will you be able to be on a budget, and live in deluxe hotels! Actually, what sealed the whole deal for me wasn't our luxurious accomodations... its mainly because DUBAI was added into the program 2 years ago!!! OK, dubai is in ah? ok STEADY... can I sign up now? I will probably never step foot into Dubai on my own too... kill 2 birds with 1 stone. I'M FOR IT!!

Dr. Singh says I can do another module of independent study with him. Independent study means researching on a topic that you are interested in, and related to HB in some way, and have him as your guiding Professor. He said past students wrote on political climates in India and how it affects the tourism industry (for intellects like Peirui), to potential future event planners, who were interested in planning ethnic weddings, and researched on Indian weddings! sounds like my kinda curry!

So you see, I wasn't completely delusional when I wrote that post... I'm still completely sane! So now the main thing is getting an internship for the first 10 weeks of the holz, and then CHIONG IMMEDIATELY to India. Lets keep our fingers crossed, k?

I went to help out with the float yesterday.. but we got there late, and so all I did was pick up a saw off the floor, and placed it back into the toolbox. wahhaha GOOD JOB RUOYING, U DESERVE A 4.0 for that!

After that, we had our Auction BBQ. It actually collided with the annual Singaporean Welcome Party... but I chose the Auction BBQ. For me actually, it was a no-brainer... I wasn't even in a dilemma of any sort. I think it shows I'm that kinda person who rather be with people who have similar interests, instead of being with people who are similar to me in physical and cultural ways, but really, when you strip away all that, have nothing much in common.

And I am very hungry now. And so I see fishsticks in the works. Heh, enjoy the last of the weekend!
