Grandeur in Green - 7:27 PM
I have never fully appreciated the open spaces and lush forests that surround my campus, UNTIL I returned from NYC this summer. AHHHh, I can breathe again. Instead of inhaling pollution or fishy smell @ Chinatown, fresh air fills my lungs! Lately, when I walk to the Oriental Mart, my feet automatically brings me down the path behind the dorms of Owen-Mcdonel-Holmes. In this fine weather, I can't think of a better route to walk. And as I look into the protected nature reserve, the huge scores of greens overwhelm me. And when I feel romantic, I start to dream about my future house.... A house, of course.. not an apartment. Somewhere secluded, yet has reasonable access to the city and shops. Oh, then I better start brushing up on my driving, cos I'll definitely need a car. It will be a modern house with alot of glass and wood. Think Scandinavian... clean lines, defined contours, warm shades...It'd look like a box from the outside, with wooden flooring, and a yellow couch. Why yellow, I have no idea....But thats how I envision it.
Alright, I admit...I'm not that much of a yellow person. I like deep, velvety colors...cos I know the cream couch will not remain cream for long. But anyway, I think it will be really nice, to have huge floor to ceiling windows or glass doors framed with wood, so I can look out everyday, and see this:

I don't even need to go to Macritchie to jog... there's a not-so-steep cross country route just outside my home....

I think once in awhile, its nice to leave the city and take in all of Mother Nature's grandeur. I remember my grandma telling me that if I would just look at the garden... the grass and the trees each day for 5 minutes, my eyesight would get better... After all, this scene will not remain for long, cos as September comes to a close, the trees will trade their greens for reds and golds instead. They're gonna fall so fast, so furious... and I'd be so miserable when all I see are bare stalks. Mannnn, that sucks. I want the trees to remain green for as long as they can!
