Tired Eyes - 6:32 PM
Today was not like yesterday. At all. And you better believe it. There wasn't much to do yesterday at work, so I just 'helped' a houseman do so minor things that took probably a total of 2hrs. So we spent 1hr at lunch and the rest of the 4 hours watching TV. WAHHAHAHAHAH.But shiet, today was totally opposite. I didn't have time to take breaks and was walking up and down. So I decided to reward myself with a manicure and pedicure....and I nearly dozed off in the chair while the lady was filing my nails. Right now my brain is not really functioning, but I can't nap or else I won't be able to sleep at night.
Did I tell you all what working in a hotel reminds me of?
Sometimes I feel like a gong nu in Da Chang Jing. Except I don't have to wear the hanbok. But other than that, its the same wad. In DCJ, there are hundreds of subjects toiling within the Imperial Palace. All except the top generals are expected to be invisible.
A hotel works the same way. Most people work behind the scences, with no interaction with the guest. ... just like DCJ, where most of the people don't meet the Huang Shang. We cook (the kitchen), and clean (the room attendants), and the Huang Shangs (guests, in our case), just see the clean room and the hot piping food in front of their eyes, without much thought to the time and effort that was behind that.
If I'm a gong nu, then Anna (the Director of Hskpg) is the Shang Gong.. there are many many shang gongs cos there are many many departments within a hotel... and all reports to the top TI2 DIAO4 SHANG4 GONG4... who happens to be the GM of the hotel.
Thank god we dun have corporal punishment like drinking poison to end our life when we offend someone... and thank god we won't be banished to some ulu sanpan hut when we make mistakes... OH! But that also means no Min Da Ren leh??
i TOLD you I'm tired.... And I'm also mega stinky. Plus my hair and face have enough oil to fry an egg. ARGH.
