job report - 10:00 PM
Dear Friend,You will be very proud to be my friend after you hear what I am about to tell you. Remember me, the prima donna number 1 who will NEVER, EVER bend down to pick up 10, 20 cents because it 'dirties my fingers'? Remember me, the tai tai wannabe who can't stand touching shoes (recall 2 posts before) because its the thing thats the thing closest to the ground? Hell, I don't even like reading newspapers that much because they make my fingers mucky. Remember me, the one who almost never cleans her toilet?... Well, I still don't. Heh.
2 days into the job, my gawd its hard work. I admit that housekeeping isn't exactly what you call MENTALLY STIMULATING, INTRIGUING, MIND BOGGLING... In fact, I would say it totally embodies the entire concept of 'Practice Makes Perfect'. I haven't done real housekeeping yet (i.e cleaning a room), because ehhh... my reasoning is cos we're facing nearly 100% occupancy rates daily, and they don't really have the time to train me. Not that I'm complaining though, I've been going with the supervisors on their rounds to inspect the rooms.
You know, some cleaning ladies aren't too thorough at their job. Sometimes, cos they are so busy, they just move on without double checking. Thats why there are always supervisors to double check all the new rooms to make sure new guests aren't stepping into even slightly dusty rooms. And harlow? Me leh, we're talking about me... there's hair allllll over my own bathroom and I have no intentions to wipe them leh. Like, whats the point? Tomorrow will still drop mah? Wah, but when I'm at work, I'm supposed to pick up the SHORTEST, LITTLEST strand of stray on the stark bathroom floor. Any wayward lint on the floor, we're supposed to notice. What about the stationary? 3 envelopes, 5 pieces of writing paper, 2 unused pencils, yada... yada...
The ladies are mostly Hispanic, some are Black from the carribean islands, and they are very nice and funny. OK, guess I'm not gonna make friends this summer huh... But I don't really mind la. But I doubt my initial plan of losing weight is NOT going to work out even though I'm on my feet most of the time. cos hor, there are pastries in the morning and lunch, and you can take breaks whenever you're free. Sigh. OH, and yesterday... for the first time since my holiday, I could sleep before midnight! and I didn't wake up till my alarm rang the next morning. Ahhh, I've almost forgotten how early the sun rises in the summer.
But its kinda sad that I don't get to chat with my friends. So, come online on the weekends! I should be here, though I don't even know. hehe. Bye for now!
