Brokeback Mountain - 7:06 PM
Howdy, ya' all.Just got back from the theatres. Just HAD to rush out to catch BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN before the Oscars, and it sure didn't disappoint. Although I must say I'm very sorry for feeling very 'urgent' halfway thru the show and had to pray that the movie would end sooner so I can go pee. Heath's accent was horrible, and due to my *uh hum* issue, I couldn't really concentrate on the plot near the end.
But I must say the Ang Lee totally deserves the Best Director award this Sunday. I mean, COME ON... it was awesome. The story itself was pretty moving though I didn't cry. In fact, I came back and thought about the movie. And then I thought about it, and I thought about it MORE. And THEN I got more moved than I was while sitting in the theatre. And now, I can't stop thinking about it.
On a totally different note, don't you think Jake just oozed sex? Honestly, I haven't noticed him much in the past...I don't think I've even watched a single movie of his. I just remember him as the guy who used to date Kirsten Dunst (whom I don't like), has a sister called Maggie and thats it. When he looked at Heath, come on WAS THAT HOT OR WHAT? But since its a gay movie, its expected since that equals fine acting. But when he did the same to a GIRL (ann hathaway), I'M FLOORED. So I hereby proclaim Jake Gyllenhaal as the latest sex symbol of hollywood.
I dunno about you, but to make things easier, lets just give all the 8 awards that BROKEBACK was nominated for to Ang Lee and crew. Poor Georgie. Tough luck, pal. Maybe next year!
