Auction Again - 6:30 PM
Preparations for Auction 2007 are right underway. Interviews with potential E-board members have been going on since yesterday, and turn out is pretty good. Which position will I be doing? I'll let you all know on Friday, cos thats when it will be official. For now, everything's still tentative. You know, perverse as it may sound, I think I rather do Auction than go to class. Like, yeah its crazy taxing and you get yelled at occasionally, but..but...but its more fun?
There's a girl who desperately wants to be the CFO of Auction 07. We don't think she's interested in any other positions, which is weird cos with no prior experience on the E-board, you really don't stand much of a chance of getting a big position. Somemore, we found out that she has a son. Not that having a son is wrong or wadeva, just that Auction is a crazy responsibility and having to factor a son in just won't work.
I feel sorta bad, cos she's a Senior next year and probably needs some leadership experience on her resume in order to get a good job, and I understand the thing about giving people opportunities. But you can't really choose between a son and something like Auction. Your son will definitely come first, then academics, then wadeva else. I think she's one year older, or the same age as me. The father of her son is in jail cos he's a drug addict or something. Very complicated right? Oh well, since she made the choice to have a child, she will have to bare the consequences as well, which means not going out with your friends, having less time for yourself and other activities etc.
On the bright side, lemme tell you all something funny. I was up in the office yesterday for my 'interview'. I say 'interview' because Chad (the CEO nx yr) didn't ask me any questions AT ALL. In fact, he didn't ask constructive questions to the interviewees and caused me to scream at him. Anyway, I saw a piece of paper taped to the table that read:
Parimal, or anyone from Auction, John Zenko (fake name, I can't remember) said he bought a $300 Frankenmuth Inn package from Auction. The gift certificate have been stolen from his home. He doesn't want a refund but he wants you to call the Inn so that the thief won't be able to use them.
I asked Chad about it and he said that John and his WIFE had a fight, which led to his wife leaving home. John found out that his certs are gone, and suspects that his wife is the one who took them. So he's requesting for us to void them so his wife won't go and enjoy herself there. MUAHHAHAAHAHA, how's that for white-trash stories?
