To Study or Not, that is the Question - 6:17 PM
0 comment(s)
You can tell a musician from a professor when they talk about exams.

This semester, I'm taking YET another music class. For those who recall, I had to take this horrible 830am Music&Culture class. Lets just say that its a wonder I only missed 2 classes the entire sem. I have another Arts&Humanities module to take and so I found out that fit my schedule. Don't regret at all! This sem, I'm taking a class on Jazz Music! And thank god, my professor is really good. He's an accomplished jazz pianist and teaches jazz piano in MSU. So he definitely knows alot. Apart from that, he is pretty funny and sort of laid back. Last week in class, he got his friends to come in and they just jammed a lil. CAN U IMAGINE GOING TO CLASS FOR A CONCERT? heh. Thats how we were greeted that class. A string bass player, a drummer and the pianist. Pretty awesome stuff I tell you.

BUT!!! No matter how nice the classes are, tests are ALWAYS sian. If only we can study and NOT have tests! hahaha. Yah....RIGHT. So we had our first test today. Welll...its not really my fault that I didn't study leh... You see, I was sick the entire weekend. I had MEANT to spend the weekend studying for this test (REALLY!) but had to be in bed for a large part.

So before the test, he said 'Cmon guys... this is just a test. You either studied enough, or you didn't. If you didn't, you probably won't remember it 10 years down the road... so don't be too worried about it.....*mumbles* I can never understand this thing with students....'

Wah! Yah lor, its JUST a test. and DUH I definitely am not gonna remember it 10 yrs down the road. Don't say 10 yrs la, I'll probably forget about it next semester! And yet alot of the Profs out there are always hounding on us to study, do this, do that. After awhile, I don't even know who has the shittier job - the student or the Prof. hmmm.... Don't know who's more concerned with getting their degree - the student, their Prof or their parents. HMMMM...

I mean, come on. We're in Uni already right, if you still have to have your Profs/Parents on your back asking youto faster go study and stop being so nua, then perhaps you should just quit school. Now that we've all come to this stage after much difficulty, if you are still not convinced that you should study because it benefits YOURSELF, then might as well forget it la, right? So I'm not saying the occasional whining is bad...Its good! It relieves stress and we human beings just like to complain anyway. But I feel that if you are so jia lut until your Prof or parents are mighty worried for you, then aiyah...don't waste money la.

Dinner first. Talk later. OUT.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

WOW. I wanted to continue that post after dinner, but GUESS WHAT? I had a call asking whether I have time to go help out at the HB office. AIYAHHHHH I was intending to relax and watch American Idol 5, but of course I said yes. AM5 seems so trivial compared to REAL work, ya know? And lo and behold, I got back at 215am. But!!!..... our catalogue's all DONE and off to the printers!! Amazing how you can still find mistakes after 6 proof reads (by different people!)

AYEEE... on a sadder note, I DON"T WANT AUCTION TO END SO SOON!! I'm JUST getting to know the people on the Board A LITTLE more, and the next thing I know, Auction's ending. What a bummer. The seniors on the team this year are really steady...like they have an answer to everything. Like the Auction Secretary told me 'We're so screwed next year.' Ummm... Yeah if we don't step up our game, YAHHHH we're basically gone. Besides, I've also heard from another Event E-board that they CANNOT stand their Executive Director, alot of internal problems etc. WOOooo I'm lucky Auction doesn't have such shit; double lucky that I didn't get any position on THE other Board.

Has been a tired week people, so sorry for the lack of updates. Have a good one. =)
